Arrival at MFKiG
When we arrived at MFKiG, our exhibition space was already set up nicely. All we had to do was drop the game builds onto the computers and… everything worked smoothly. As a result, no big issues appeared – we could focus on what really mattered: meeting players.

The “It’s not Portal” story
At first, we ran into a funny situation. Many people passing by commented that our game looked like Portal. One guy even said he wouldn’t play it, because while he loved Portal, he didn’t care for its clones. That’s when we made a spontaneous (and brilliant) marketing move: we put up a sign that read “It’s not Portal”. Consequently, people walking past laughed out loud 😄, and we had the perfect hook to start talking to them about what our games were really about.
As a result, it worked brilliantly! Both Take Notes and Rayborne grabbed people’s attention like viral TikTok videos. In fact, we kept joking that if someone reached level three in Rayborne, they’d stick around for 30 minutes ⏳. With Take Notes, it was the same – players solved puzzles as if they were devouring candies 🍬.
Memorable moments
For example, some moments made us feel truly proud ❤️. Someone jokingly shouted at us to “just take my money.” Another player came back on Sunday to tell us that after playing Take Notes on Saturday, he went and bought it right away. And one guy played halfway through Rayborne on Saturday and then returned the next day to continue.

Of course, players also spotted a few small bugs 🐞. However, what was even more valuable were the details we noticed ourselves by simply watching them play – subtle things no one mentioned out loud, but that clearly need improvement. Our takeaway? The gameplay and overall feel are already strong, but we’re committed to polishing them even more.
There was one moment of pride we’ll never forget: a young player with that unmistakable spark in his eyes asked when there would be more content. That kind of curiosity and excitement makes all the hard work worth it.

Naturally, the event came with challenges too – after 20 hours of talking, our voices were nearly gone 😅. Nevertheless, it was worth every second. Seeing people at a festival full of comics, cosplay, and games stop at our exhibition space, get absorbed by the screen, and stay for so long – that’s priceless.
What’s next – join our Discord
We’re heading back from MFKiG full of energy, pride, and new experiences. Therefore, we don’t want that energy to end with the festival. That’s why we warmly invite you to join our Discord 🎮💬 – a place where we’ll keep the conversation going, share updates about Take Notes and Rayborne, and build this journey together with you. Come hang out with us – we’d love to see you there!
